Featuring:
Elain Thompson - As a re-emerging artist Elain Thompson is not unlike the art she creates. From scraping and brushing a palette of oils, to the casual observations made of the world around her, beneath the surface lies a subtle and layered brilliance.

Sean Kirkpatrick - "The Gaviota / Central Coast is a mighty powerful place to be. Through my travels, experiences, I have always come back to it . The ever pressing development is a major concern and rather sad ordeal really. In my works alot of love for this part of the world is present, and an outstretched hand to see the beauty of what lies here and is always unfortunately threatened."

Frank Krifka - "Duplication of Vermeer’s “Girl With A Pearl Earring”. “Vermeer is probably the old master which I admire most. His color, lines and tone are so soft, so careful and ultimately perfect. By duplicating his paintings, I aim to not only improve my own painting, but gain valuable knowledge and insight on what it was like to be Vermeer”.

Our featured performer for October was Donna Lynn Caskey. She plays claw hammer banjo and sings Virginia mountain style.
Here is a short bio...
Donna Lynn Caskey was born singing and hasn't quit yet. She grew up on the coast of Virginia where her family and the record bin at the library fueled her love of music. While attending college in the Blue Ridge, her
appreciation of old-time music grew into a passion. She bought herself a Banjo at graduation. She eventually learned to play the thing and before long was writing songs, too. Donna also serves as a social worker for people with disabilities
Previous Guests:
Doris Vernon - August 2008
“Her words rise like starlings
From a tree of shadows
Their murmurs join together
To fill the air with harsh sounds
She wants the words to retreat
To their hidden perches
But they clot the sky with blood
They stain the ground
To the horizon.”
- “Starlings” by Doris Vernon
